In the summer of 1690 the famous Italian scientist Galileo Galilei’s life and work were altered by reports from Holland about a new option instrument. Galileo used the description of this new invention to put tougher an effective combination of lenses. It instantly became the best telescope in existence. With it he made many of his famous discoveries. Telescopes were made in differente versions for astronomical and daily use. Our replica precision instruments sport solid brass lacquered bodies holding three telescoping tubes or drawers as they are called. Originally spyglasses were used used by navigators and explorers. They can be viewed in museums collections. The difference between the original and our replicas is that the modern optics are of a better quality. Focus the telescope by pulling the tubes completely out. To focus, gently push the last and smallest tube inwards. Use a steady hand.
