The Fifie is a type of fishing boat that has developed on the east coast of Scotland. It was used by Scottish fishermen from 1850 to the twentieth century, when many of these boats were powered. These boats were designed for herring fishing and therefore equipped with drift nets, hence the nickname of herring drifters.
Chris Watton, author and researcher of naval models, well known and appreciated, helped us a lot during the development and research phases. We always try to develop our models with great accuracy, the most faithful possible to reality.
This Fifie kit is based on a recent version, equipped with a propeller motor. The model can be mounted either for the exposure only, either as a static model or for navigation (the motorization kit is not included in the package).
